Surfers will gather in Rockaway Beach to paddle out in support of surfers in Gaza and the suffering they've faced through the genocide. There will also be music and poetry readings on the beach for the whole community to enjoy!

NYC-based choreographer Hadar Ahuvia interrogates the roots of the Israeli folk dances she grew up dancing with her mother in the U.S. Confronting romanticized stories about her grandparents, settlers in 1930s Palestine, Ahuvia embarks on a personal journey to reckon with the founding mythologies and transgressions of Zionism. *AUGUST 15: Ghassan Kanafani and the Specter of Palestinian Statehood
Hazem Jamjoum, an educator, archivist and translator living in London, hosts this workshop analyzing two of Kanafani's works, "The Revolution of 1936-1939" and "The Specter of the Palestinian State," discussing their relevance to the current struggle and how it has changed over time. Attendees are asked to read both works beforehand.
